Tara Azizi 

International Legal Director

​

Tara Azizi is the International Legal Director at Herischi Human Rights Law Center. 

 

Previously, she worked as a human rights lawyer at a senior level in the field of international human rights law, including at an inter-governmental level and in liaison with UN agencies. She advised government institutions, international bodies, and authored numerous reports regarding the advancement of the rule of law. 

 

Due to her international background, she has extensive experience of working directly with victims of human rights abuses from different communities and survivors of gender-based violence. She has been invited to TV channels and seminars to provide expertise regarding ongoing human rights violations and abuses of power by authorities.  

 

She speaks English, Kurdish, Swedish and French. She holds an LL.M degree from Stockholm University.
